Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre

Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre

The first major health facility in British Columbia to be completed as a public-private partnership, this $95 million dollar facility opened in October of 2006.  It is the first facility of its kind in Canada, combining outpatient clinics, education and research facilities, and private physician clinics in an 11-story building. The lower floor is dedicated to retail space and the University of British Columbia School of Medicine lecture theatre.  The public open space includes the extension of the VGH materials and wayfinding to the South West corner of the precinct.  A gentle gravel walk sits just inside the heritage stone walls on 12th Avenue, running between a double row of existing oak trees.
