Vancouver General Hospital Master Plan

Vancouver General Hospital Master Plan

Working with Davidson Yuen Simpson Architects to create urban design and guideline documents for the rezoning project at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), a 10 city block precinct that runs between 10th Ave. and 13th Ave. and between Oak Street and Ash Street. The plan centers on the restoration of the original hospital building, which is now referred to as the Heather Pavilion and a massive green space in front. The master plan at VGH allows for an increase in floor area of 8% while reducing site coverage by 2%. One of the outcomes of the plan will be the creation of 7.7 acres of public open space and development of 700,000 square feet of medical technology research and development space.
