A Rich History

Vaughan Landscape Planning and Design Ltd. evolved from the firm of Don Vaughan & Associates Ltd. From its inception, the scope of work included both the planning of major projects and universities as well as detailed

landscape architectural design.

Early projects included, the University of Victoria; Granville Island; Ambleside Landing in West Vancouver; Whistler Village Town Centre; Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden and the Burrard Skytrain Station (Discovery Square).

In 1985, the firm took new direction, and, under the name of Don Vaughan Ltd, assumed the responsibility for the design and co-ordination of the site work for Expo ’86. The goal of the firm was to stay small and service a few select clients.

In 1996, the company became Vaughan Landscape Planning and Design Ltd. (VLPD) and continued with work from conceptual design to contract documents and management of construction. To better reflect the company’s extensive experience each, Don, Jeff and Mark bring unique abilities to every project.

Vaughan Landscape Planning has the reputation for selecting work that reflects its core values, including innovation in sustainable landscape design, education and landmark spaces. We believe that when you enjoy what you do and care about the spaces you create, and then truly great designs can be achieved.
